Julian joined the Park Authority in 2009 and had responsibility for the Authority’s property portfolio, commercial and visitor services operations, recreation and conservation functions, community development/sustainable tourism activity, and an education service as Director of Countryside and Land Management, before being appointed as CEO in February 2018. Julian currently represents Fforest Fawr Geopark in the European Geoparks Network, is Vice-Chair of the UK Global Geoparks Forum and sits on the South Wales and Severn Waterways Partnership of the Canal and River Trust.
Tim is CEO at Apello UK which helps patients and the ageing population have more independence and peace of mind through Appello's leading technology services. Over a career that spans 30 years, Tim has helped drive growth and customer satisfaction, through very different economic cycles, giving him very extensive experience of leading teams in changing times for companies both large and small including BT and Openreach.
Steve lives in the Lake District National Park and was appointed as a Member of the Park Authority in 2015. Following early years in the energy sector and with more than 25 years’ experience as an executive in international technology companies, Steve is currently chairman of a portfolio of UK private equity backed businesses and Deputy Chair of the Board of Directors and Chair of Finance at the University of Cumbria. In his spare time, Steve enjoys adventure in high places and looks forward to helping the UK National Parks build partnerships in a challenging business environment.
Catherine is a commercial specialist with over 15 years’ experience in the sales and sponsorship sector, launching Think!Sponsorship in 2002. Catherine specialises in working with sponsorship-seekers to identify assets and opportunities and has developed & created a number of tools for the sponsorship industry including the UK’s largest sponsorship conference. Catherine is a keen walker, a devoted – and long-suffering - Ipswich Town FC fan and also enjoys cooking, music and art.
Mark leads the delivery of the Discover England’s National Parks programme, a £1.4million project to develop the experiential tourism offer across England’s National Parks to meet the needs of new international visitors and grow our international brand. Prior to this Mark was the Transport, Access and Sustainable Tourism Manager for the New Forest National Park Authority.
John is CEO at Adlens, the company leading the development and sale of adjustable focus glasses using new technology to transform the vision of all of those who wear glasses. Starting his career in the food industry, including as part of the team that grew Green & Black’s chocolate into a global brand, John has also held senior positions at Wayfair and MOO. His love affair with the bicycle, thankfully shared by his wife, saw them spend a year on a tandem heading to Australia. They currently live in Oxfordshire, though spend as much time as they can on the North York Moors.
Liam started his career in a range of roles in DEFRA and BEIS before establishing a successful marine planning and environmental consultancy business and taking on a non-executive director role in the Gardline Group of companies.
Kristine is an accomplished senior executive with 8 years’ extensive experience operating internationally at board level, with significant P&L responsibility across a wide range of business disciplines, geographies and industries. She is a customer centric general manager with particular emphasis in marketing, product management and sales. Having begun her career at Unilever, she then spent ten years at American Express and holds an M.B.A. from New York University. A founding Director and most recently Director of Operations, Gordon became Chief Executive in 2015. He has led an innovative and ambitious range of projects across conservation, visitor experience and rural development in the National Park.
Prior to working for the National Parks Partnership, Naomi was Head of Development at the National Portrait Gallery, managing the Corporate, Trusts and Membership functions. A sponsorship specialist, she created and managed partnerships with companies as varied as Burberry, Deloitte, BT, Bank of America and Gap. Naomi took a secondment in 2008/9 to be Development Director for Children & the Arts, one of the Prince of Wales's charities. In her spare time Naomi is a Trustee of the Jane Austen House Museum and enjoys London culture as well as spending time walking and camping in the UK.
Lisa joined National Parks Partnerships in June 2017 and has over 15 years of corporate partnership experience having worked for a variety of arts & heritage organisations including Historic Royal Palaces and English National Ballet. In her spare time Lisa enjoys quizzing, going to gigs and spending time walking her dog.
